PRIVATE LESSONS

As a working jazz musician and singer, I work as a leader and sideman in many different groups. This has allowed me to design a private lesson curriculum that covers many of the things a working musician needs to know.

I teach out of my home studio in West Seattle, Washington. I can schedule lesson times between 2:00pm and 7:00pm daily, depending on my performance schedule. Private lessons are $50/hour, or a discount package of 4/$180. (These do not expire and are redeemable anytime.)

ELECTRIC BASS, ACOUSTIC BASS LESSONS

Electric bass, acoustic bass studies offered. Private lessons cover: Music theory, bass fundamentals, technique, rhythm and meter, sight reading, playing jazz changes, soloing, improvisational concepts, good practice techniques, intonation and equipment advice. Accompaniment tracks are provided for further practice at home.

ACCOMPANIMENT PRACTICE SESSIONS

Also offered, accompaniment practice sessions. (Same price as private lessons). For singers, pianists, guitarists and other musicians hoping to have some time practicing playing with a bassist. These sessions are a chance to learn about communication between rhythm section players, or, for singers, the art of singing with bass-only accompaniment.
